The HJ0605 automatic cable reel tester is designed for household and similar electrical automatic cable reels. It complies with the IEC60335-1 Clause 22.16 standard. It simulates a high-frequency cable reeling and unreeling cycle of 30 times/minute (the maximum rate depends on the device structure) to detect the effects of the cable reel on the wear of the soft cable sheath, conductor breakage and contact loss. Application:
Used to detect whether the structure of automatic reel for household and similar electrical appliances has caused undue abrasion or damage to the sheath of the flexible cord, breakage of conductor strands, undue wear of contacts.
Test sample:
Automatic cord reels of household appliances and similar electrical appliances.
Feature:
Two-thirds of the length of the cord is unreeled. If the withdrawable length of the cord is less than 225 cm, the cord is unreeled so that a length of 75 cm remains on the reel. An additional length of 75 cm of the cord is then unreeled and pulled in a direction so that the greatest abrasion occurs to the sheath, taking into account the normal position of use of the appliance. Where the cord leaves the appliance, the angle between the axis of the cord during the test and the axis of the cord when it is unreeled without substantial resistance is approximately 60°. The cord is allowed to be recoiled by the reel.
If the cord does not recoil at the angle of 60°, this angle is adjusted to the maximum that will allow recoil.
The test is carried out 6000 times at a rate of approximately 30 times per minute or at the maximum rate allowed by the construction of the cord reel if this is less.
